The International Children’s Relief Foundation has pledged to sponsor the 2006 Tourmaline State Beach Autistic Children’s surfing event in conjunction with Israel Paskowitz Surfer’s Healing Foundation. The Surfer’s Healing Foundation is a non-profit organization formed by Izzy and Danielle Paskowitz, owners of the Paskowitz Surf Camp in San Clemente, California, and parents of an autistic child. The Foundation is dedicated to providing a unique therapeutic experience for children facing autism and improve the lives of those facing this devastating disorder. The date of the event is still being determined. Parents of Autistic Children can get further information on the event by calling Surfers Healing at (949) 492-1398. Father Joe's Villages has suffered a $2,000,000.00 drop in income this year, and is in serious need of help. 2007: San Diego wildfires have had an absolutely devasastating effect on our community and its citizens. Please donate to your local charities and take part in community rebuilding efforts. There has never been a greater time to join a church or a faith based organization to help your community. Please take time to PRAY for those impactedby this tragedy, and volunteer your time and efforts.
2005: Merry Christmas! Please take time to celebrate the season by donating to local charitable organizations. The ICRF celebrated the season by donating $100.00 gift/shopping certificates to each of the citizens of the Milestone House for disadvantaged teenage girls. The Milestone House provides shelter, support, counseling and structure for at risk teenage girls in the greater San Diego area. 2005: Christmas Giving: The ICRF proudly supports the San Diego Big Brothers/Big Sisters Christmas programs, and encourages others to do so by mailing contributions directly to them at 8515 Airjons Ave, Ste. A, San Diego, CA 92126.
2005: For years, the Emmanuel Orphanage in Tijuana has housed 70-80 at risk boys. Emmanuel Orphanage now seeks contributions to its building fund for its new girls orpanage. The ICRF has provided a grant for this purpose, and encourages those that can to donate. Please write to Eduarto and Ana Mendez, Emmanuel Orphanage, P.O. Box 7374, Chula Vista, CA 91912-7343.
2005: Please donate generously to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, and pray for the survivors. Hurricane Katrina relief efforts are beyond the geographical reach of the ICRF, and we cannot accept donations earmarked for the Katrina relief effort. ICRF suggests donating to an appropriate relief fund. The Salvation Army received material support from the ICRF in support of their relief efforts, and the ICRF strongly supports their efforts and the efforts of the American Red Cross. Please donate generously to these organizations.
2005: The ICRF thanks corporate sponsor Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for it's assistance in stocking the San Diego Children's Hospital Surgical Units Children's Activity/Toy Center. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. actively supported the effort through corporate discount of it's toys and arts and crafts products. The ICRF salutes both Wal-Mart and Children's Hospital for their efforts in our community! ICRF encourages those that can contribute further to contact San Diego Children's Hospital at (858) 576-1700.
2005: Father Joe's Villages/St. Vincent de Paul has established the Padre Luis Jayme International Outreach Program to assist with the abject poverty existing in the greater Tijuana region. ICRF has provided funding to this organization, and requests that all those able contact them and donate at (619) 446-2120.
2005: Surfing Event a Success! On July 27, 2005, the Tourmaline State Beach Autistic Children’s surfing event was held in conjunction with Israel Paskowitz Surfer’s Healing Foundation. The athletes left refreshed, well fed, and with a new appreciation for the ocean and the sport of surfing. Thanks to Surfer's Healing for all their fine personnel and efforts.
2005: For decades, The Arc of San Diego has assisted in providing for disabled children in our community. The ICRF salutes their efforts, and has made a contribution to their Capital Campaign for the establishment of better facilities. ICRF encourages those able to call The Arc of San Diego at (858) 715-3780 and contribute to this fantastic organization.
2005: Nothing is worse than a hungry child, unless its a hungry homeless child. The ICRF has contributed to St. Vincent de Paul's Homeless Children's Food Program, and encourages anyone that can help to contact St. Vincent de Paul at (619) 446-2100.
2005: ICRF Director Kim Hunter is spearheading the effort to resupply the San Diego Children's Hospital's Surgical Unit's toy/activity room. ICRF has made a donation to the effort, and encourages those that can contribute to contact San Diego Children's Hospital at (858) 576-1700.
2005: Date set for Tourmaline Beach Autistic Children's Surfing Event! The ICRF is joining with Israel Paskowitz' Surfer's Healing Foundation to open the world of surfing to autistic children on July 27, 2005. 2004: Clothing Drive a success! Throughout 2004, the ICRF conducted a clothing drive for the less fortunate in the Greater San Diego Region. As of December, 2004, numerous tons of clothing has been procured, sorted and distributed to local parishes utilizing an all volunteer network.
2004-2008: Local charities supported by ICRF. The ICRF provided monetary support to the following local charities.
2004: Special Olympics supported by the International Children’s Relief Foundation. The board of the International Children’s Relief Foundation announces grant to the San Diego Special Olympics, and encourages others to support the cause.
